Formulate and establish the internal audit frameworks, programs and activities which focuses on significant business risk exposures, as well as financial and compliance risk to improve organizational governance, risk management and control processes.
Adopt the best practice on risk-based audit frameworks (including standard audit procedures) to ensure it provides objective and relevant assurance, that contribute to the effectiveness and efficiency of audit activities
Establish the internal audit policy and response plan by setting out the role in relation to financial to prevent fraudulent activities and improve the value and credibility of company’s financial statements.
Develop holistic risk-based internal audit plan by taking into consideration expectation of internal stakeholders to ensure value added in the audit activities
Control and drive the internal audit programs and activities across organization to ensure effective implementation of audit plan and compliance to internal audit principles and standard guidelines.
Establish robust risk assessment and annual planning process focusing on existing high-risk areas such as financial, technology and business risk to enhance internal controls and maximize efficiency, also responding to matters that emerge from appropriate referring bodies (Board, Group CEO and Other Executives).
Establish and maintain effective relationship with various government authorities/agencies, external auditors and committees to keep abreast and comply with the latest development of the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (IPPF), relevant Acts, Law and regulations in relation to governance, risk management and control processes.
Establish internal audit dashboard to keep the Board, senior management team and audit committee informed on the functional’s deliverables and escalate also highlight any internal audit related issues for direction/decision to ensure all the issues are addressed properly
Act as internal consultant and provide advisory related to internal controls, compliance, and governance processes and formulate the best possible solution to ensure company’s interest is protected at all times and conformance with the Code of Ethics and Standards.
Harness outcomes of internal audit to develop business enablers and people capability to drive organization culture
Develop, manage and deploy internal audit resources effectively to achieve the audit plans objectives.
Set and control the function’s cost and budget to ensure all expenditure are in line with company’s financial target.
Conduct investigation of integrity transgression such as fraud and corruption to ensure appropriate evaluation, resolution and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Set, establish and monitor people performance metrics across internal audit function in both management skills and technical expertise to ensure the capability and competency are align to overall business goals and expectation.
Develop succession planning for critical roles within internal audit function.
Establish and maintain effective partnership with external parties to ensure best practices internal audit process and operations learnings are embedded in the organization and benchmarked
