The Head of Logistics & Distribution is responsible for overseeing the entire logistics and distribution operations of the company, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective delivery of products and services. This role is critical in maintaining strong relationships with government entities (Ministry of Health) and ensuring compliance with the specific requirements of our concession business.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Strategic Planning:
• Develop and implement strategic logistics and distribution plans that align with the company's business objectives, particularly in relation to government contracts and concession agreements.
• Forecast and manage logistics and distribution needs to meet the demands of government projects and concession-related activities.
2. Operations Management:
• Oversee the daily operations of the logistics and distribution teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods and services.
• Ensure the optimization of logistics processes, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management, to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
3. Compliance & Risk Management:
• Ensure all logistics and distribution activities comply with government regulations, concession agreements, and company policies.
• Identify potential risks in logistics and distribution processes and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions.
4. Vendor & Supplier Management:
• Manage relationships with key vendors, suppliers, and third-party logistics providers, ensuring service levels meet the requirements of government and concession contracts.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors to secure favorable terms and conditions.
5. Team Leadership:
• Lead, mentor, and develop the logistics and distribution team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
• Ensure the team is well-equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to handle the complexities of government and concession-related logistics.6. Budget Management:
• Develop and manage the logistics and distribution budget, ensuring cost efficiency while meeting service delivery targets.
• Monitor and control expenditures, ensuring alignment with the company’s financial goals.
7. Stakeholder Engagement:
• Act as the primary point of contact for government agencies and other key stakeholders involved in logistics and distribution activities.
• Ensure clear and effective communication with all stakeholders to support the successful execution of logistics operations.
8. Continuous Improvement:
• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of logistics and distribution operations.
• Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge in logistics management.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in logistics and distribution management, with a strong focus on government contracts and concession-based business models.
• Proven track record of successfully leading large teams and managing complex logistics operations.
• In-depth knowledge of government regulations and compliance requirements related to logistics and distribution.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage relationships with government officials, vendors, and other stakeholders.
