Job Purpose and Scope

The main objective of the Head of Human Resources (HR Head) is to provide support and advice to Senior Management and employees in the performance of their duties. The position has overall responsibility for policy development and implementation of all areas of human resources including, remuneration and benefits, recruitment, performance management, organisation development, succession planning, career and management development, discipline and industrial relations. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the strategic planning of Group of Companies and the achievement of the overall plan by delivering on agreed objectives and outcomes for the Human Resources function.
  • Identifies and implements Human Resource policies and practices that enhance the efficiency  and competitiveness of our client's Group operations taking into account compliance with safety, environment and quality requirements.
  • Contributes to the planning, costing and implementation of new business proposals with respect to Human Resource matters.
  • Prepares strategy papers, proposals and other management reports for Senior Management.
  • Acts as a sounding board to Senior Management when developing business strategies and for the resolution of operational issues.
  • Ensures Human Resource activities are managed appropriately to deliver the required outcomes, within agreed timeframes.
  • Effectively represents our client's Group at conciliations, on Industry Bodies, Conferences and Seminars etc.
  • Recommends and implements cost effective remuneration and benefits policies that enable the organization to attract and retain the necessary levels of staff
  • Develops and implements succession and career management systems to ensure adequate numbers of appropriately trained and developed people are available to meet the needs of the business.
  • Designs and implements organization development strategies and practices to align the  behavior of employees with the vision, values and business direction of our client's Group.
  • Develops and implements then monitors the performance management systems to be applied across all levels of the business, including direct reports and their staff.
  • Manages the resolution of employment and disciplinary issues in a manner that minimizes any negative impact on the operations.
  • Develops and implements changes to the recruitment, induction and development policies and practices to meet business requirements.
  • Demonstrating commitment to health and safety through formal participation in Risk Assessment and Control Planning, workplace inspections, etc. and informally through work site visits and discussions with staff.
  • Closely work with production team to identify and address any production issues related to manpower that may impact delivery schedules.
  • Continuously monitor production schedule with work done against the expected timeline and submit report to Management on weekly basis.
  • Implements any other projects assigned by the Senior Management from time to time.
