To develop and manage the Company's product and commodity portfolio by sourcing the right products, negotiating competitive pricing, monitoring market trends and ensuring sales has competitive products and solutions to meet customer needs and achieve business objectives.
1. To evaluate new products based on market demand, customer requirements, sales opportunities and business potential.
2. To conduct market research and identify new products, commodities, applications and market opportunities that can support business growth.
3. To develop and maintain a competitive and commercially viable product portfolio in line with the Company's business strategy.
4. To assess product lifestyle, sales performance and market potential and recommend products to introduce, expand, maintain or phase out.
5. To work closely with Sales and other relevant departments to identify customer needs and develop suitable product solutions.
6. To establish, review and manage selling prices to ensure competitiveness and achieve the required margin.
7. To monitor market prices, supplier price movements, commodity trends and competitor pricing.
8. To review and adjust pricing in response to commodity cost fluctuations, market conditions, exchange rate movements and other relevant factors.
9. To monitor pricing by Sales and ensure that products are sold within the approved pricing and margin guidelines
10. To work closely with Sales to understand customer requirements, market trends, upcoming projects and business opportunities.
11. To recommend suitable products, alternative products and alternative sources to Sales based on customer requirements and commercial considerations.
12. To provide product, pricing and market information to support Sales in developing new and existing customer accounts.
13. To monitor potential supply disruptions, market shortages and other supply risks and recommedn appropriate mitigation measures.
14. To mointor industry developments, comodity trends, market demand, competitor activities and changes in customer requirements.
15. To identify slow-moving, declining, high potential and strategic products and recommend appropriate actions.
16. To prepare and maintain regular reports on product performance, pricing margins, market trends, supplier performance and business opportunities.
17. To use relevant market and business data to support management in making informed decisions on products, pricing, sourcing and business development.
18. To identify opportunities to introduce new products, expand existing product categories and develop new business opportunities with existing and prospective customers.
19. To join customer meetings, presentations and discussions when technical product, sourcing or pricing support is required.
20. To support Sales in developing commercially viable solutions and proposals aligned with customer requirements and Company objectives.
21. To perform any other work as and when required.
