Alongside the General Manager of the KPJ Healthcare University and the two colleges (all referred to as ‘organisation’), directs and oversees the various marketing and associated public relations and outreach activities of a major client-oriented community services unit of the university.
Manages and develops potential customers in government, industry, academia, and/or the community at large. Serves as a member of the unit's management team. Manage and coordinate media coverage, sales campaigns, and/or promotional materials.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Works directly with senior management of the organisation to manage marketing programmes, execute marketing strategies, and implement marketing campaigns.
2. Monitor together with the General Manager in leadership and direction in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the strategic marketing plan for the organisation.
3. Designs, writes, and arranges the production of printed promotional materials, including catalogues, brochures, flyers, and programme and media guides; designs layouts and prepares copy.
4. Establishes and implements short- and long-range marketing goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for the organisation; evaluates programme effectiveness; and effects changes required for improvement.
5. Provides support for promotional special events such as student intake, open houses, sponsorship package, outreach and community events, tours, press conferences, banquets, exhibits, programme or service fairs, and school events.
6. Establishes and helps the department maintain a staffing structure to support the marketing efforts of the organisation.
7. Provide info to the General Manager to develop and manage annual marketing budgets for the organisation, regularly analyse expenditures, and prepare summary assessments and reports.
8. Initiates and implements direct outreach marketing efforts to potential external customers on behalf of the unit's programmes and services.
9. Serves as public information contact, as appropriate, for the organisation and maintains communications with university constituencies.
10. Conducts market research and analysis and establishes data management and tracking systems to improve the organisation's marketing efforts.
11. Represents the organisation at various community and business meetings; provides consultation and collaborates on projects with other universities and/or external constituencies; may present public programmes or lectures, conduct facility tours, and manage exhibit space at local, national, and international conferences.
12. To ensure compliance of regulatory requirements including the Malaysian Private Higher Education Act etc.
13. Participates in the development of university policies and procedures; may serve on university planning and policy-making committees.
14. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
1. Bachelor's degree; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
2. Excellent analytical and report-writing skills.
3. Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
4. Very fluent in both spoken and written English.
5. Can work independently with minimum supervision.
6. Ability to work in a high-volume environment and meet deadlines.
7. Experience in working with consulting firms is desirable.
