Assistant Director, Business Development

Job Purpose
- To drive business development initiatives and expand the hospital’s market presence.
- To foster strategic partnerships, cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, and develop innovative strategies to enhance the hospital’s competitive position in the healthcare industry.
- To conduct market research, analyze industry trends, and assess the feasibility of new business initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Business Development in developing and implementing comprehensive business development strategies to achieve the hospital’s growth objectives.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential business opportunities, market trends, and competitive threats.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess the feasibility and viability of new business initiatives and partnerships.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including physicians, healthcare organizations, insurers, and community leaders.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for strategic alliances and partnerships to expand the hospital’s service offerings.
- Develop and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to potential partners, visitors, and clients.
- Support the negotiation and execution of contracts and agreements with external partners.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of business development initiatives and make recommendations for improvements.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies that may impact the hospital’s business development efforts.
- Assist in the preparation of business development reports and presentations for senior leadership and hospital management.
- Lead the outstation market business development efforts in specific regions, including East Malaysia, East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia, Perak, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka & Johor.
- Develop and implement tailored business development strategies to penetrate the outstation markets and increase the hospital’s market share.
- Identify and engage with key stakeholders in the outstation regions, including government agencies, local healthcare providers, and community leaders to drive patient referrals to the hospital.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including corporate communication, operations, and clinical departments, to ensure seamless delivery of services to outstation patients.
- Track and analyze key performance indications (KPIs) for the outstation markets, including revenue growth, patient volumes, and market share, and provide regular reports to senior management.
- Travel frequently to the assigned regions to build relationships, attend industry events, and conduct market visits.
Qualifications
- A recognized Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Business Admin, Management, or equivalent.
- Min 10 years of working experience in business development or related fields at a managerial level, preferably in the healthcare or related industry.
- Highly motivated, aggressive, committed, and numbers & results-driven.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong presentation, and negotiation skills.
- A strategist with strong business acumen, problem-solving, and analytical ability.
- Willing and able to travel for work purposes.
