Job Description :

JOB PURPOSE

The job purpose of a Senior Manager, Regulatory is to oversee and ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. This role is responsible for interpreting complex legal requirements and guiding the organization in making strategic decisions that align with regulatory frameworks.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the company's products, operations, and processes comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards set forth by relevant authorities in Malaysia. Stay up to date with changes in regulatory requirements and communicate any impacts or necessary adjustments to relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage the process of obtaining and renewing licenses, permits, and authorizations necessary for the company's business activities. This includes liaising with government agencies, completing the necessary documentation, and facilitating inspections, as required.
  • Develop and execute a regulatory strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives while ensuring compliance and mitigating potential risks.
  • Provide strategic advice to senior management regarding regulatory matters and potential impacts on business operations.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports and documentation to the relevant authorities in a timely and accurate manner. Maintain organized records and files related to regulatory compliance and reports.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including legal, quality assurance, research and development, marketing, and sales, to ensure that all aspects of the business adhere to regulatory requirements. Provide guidance and training to staff on regulatory matters as needed.

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • A Bachelor's degree in Law or a related field. A Master's degree would be a plus.
  • Proven experience (typically 8+ years) in regulatory affairs, legal compliance, or related roles within the telecommunications industry in Malaysia.
  • In-depth knowledge of Malaysian telecommunications laws, regulations, and licensing requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex legal documents and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for engaging with external regulators, industry bodies, and internal stakeholders.
  • Proven track record in managing regulatory issues, advocacy efforts, and resolving disputes.
  • Familiarity with dispute resolution processes and litigation management.
  • Strong leadership abilities to effectively manage and guide teams in regulatory and compliance matters.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized to ensure meticulous record-keeping and reporting.
