Job Description :

A. Policies and Procedures

Assist Team Leader and Manager in ensuring department policies and procedures, safety, environmental and infection control standards are adhered to.
Develop speech program protocols.

B. Operational Issues
Work as a team with the medical and rehabilitative personnel in providing a comprehensive patient care management and rehabilitative services i.e. Performs various speech, language and swallowing assessment on children and adult with impaired speech, language, hearing and swallowing problem.
Responsible for accurate diagnosis of various types of speech, language and swallowing disorder.
Sets goals and objectives for patient progress and development.
 Provides recommendations and rehabilitation therapy to patient with speech, hearing and swallowing disorder.
 Conducts speech, language and swallowing therapy program for both inpatients and outpatients.
 Establishes appropriate patient management care plan for pre and post therapy.
 Compiles patient case history for speechand language assessment.
 Responsible for related activities in upgrading and marketing of the speech & language therapy services.
  Performs other related duties as assigned by the Manager and team leader.

C. Customer Service
      Report to Team Leader routinely on patient related matters and report
      immediately if situation is serious. In the absence of the Team
      Leader, to report to the Rehabilitative Services Manager or the
      second person in line (who is the Senior Physiotherapist)
      Assist in the investigation and addresses patients or Medical Staff
      complaints and ensure follow up actions are being followed through.
D. Education / Training
      Assist in orientation for new personnel to job requirements and
      equipments.
      Attend talks, meetings, courses, workshops on skills updating as
      determined by the Manager or the Team Leader.
      Participate in Staff Recognition Program, Customer Satisfactory
      Feedback Survey, Quality Initiative Program, etc.
E. Administrative
      Attend meetings or participate in other committees as assigned.
      Assist in compilation of census and quality initiatives monthly.
      Perform all other related duties as may be assigned by the Manager
      and the Team Leader.
