The Professor is responsible for providing academic leadership in teaching, research, and clinical education within the Graduate School of Medicine. The role contributes to curriculum excellence, research advancement, postgraduate training, and compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.

Academic Leadership & Teaching

• Provide leadership in curriculum development, review, and delivery for undergraduate and postgraduate medical programmes.
• Deliver lectures, seminars, clinical teaching, and supervision in areas of expertise.
• Mentor and supervise postgraduate students, including Master’s and PhD candidates.
• Ensure teaching and assessment practices align with Outcome-Based Education (OBE) principles.

Research & Scholarly Activities

• Lead and conduct research activities and secure research grants.
• Publish in indexed journals and contribute to scholarly outputs.
• Supervise postgraduate research and examinations.
• Promote a strong research culture within the Graduate School of Medicine.

Clinical & Professional Practice (where applicable)

• Provide clinical leadership and supervision in affiliated teaching hospitals.
• Ensure integration of clinical practice with academic teaching.
• Maintain professional registration and clinical competency as required.

Administration & Governance

• Participate in faculty governance, committees, and academic boards.
• Support accreditation, quality assurance, and compliance with MQA, MOHE, and MMC requirements.
• Contribute to strategic planning and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Service & Engagement

• Engage in professional, community, and industry collaborations.
• Represent the Graduate School of Medicine at national and international academic forums.
• Contribute to academic consultancy and advisory roles where appropriate.
